About Me

I work in the Chicago Public School system as a federal research grant administrator.  Our grant, Chicago Striving Readers, works to improve the performance of struggling adolescent readers and to help build a strong scientific research base around specific strategies to help struggling readers (U.S. Department of Education, 2007).  We have a collaborative partnership with Dr. Donna Ogle and National Louis University staff and work in 29 schools across the city with children of all backgrounds.

My specific job is to help teachers and interventionists integrate technology into their 6th-8th grade classrooms.  Some of our schools have laptops, some have iPads, some simply have Palm Pilots and all of our rooms have desktop computers and LCD projectors.  One of our main goals is to use technology as a tool for differentiation.  While this is quite a monumental task at times, many of our schools have accomplished this and continue to break new ground daily!
